Setting up your own Golden Tee PC Golf Server

You may have to open ports in a firewall, provide your IP address to other people, or otherwise create vulnerability to malicious activity. While Incredible Technologies, Inc. 1) Install the Golf Server and set up the Golden Tee PC Service
  1. Download the PC Golf Server from here (.zip).
  2. Extract the zip file to c:\golf.
  3. You will need to create a service for the golf_srv.exe that needs to have local administrator access. To do this open a command prompt and create the service using the following command line:

    C:\golf\SC.exe create "Golf Server" binpath= c:\golf\server\golf_srv.exe

    This will create a service for Golden Tee PC server.
  4. Click on Start, type in "services.msc" (without the quotation marks) and click "OK". This will open up the services configuration window. Browse down to the service called Golf Server, right click on it and select "Properties." (screenshot)
  5. On the "General" tab, change the startup type from manual to automatic. (screenshot)
  6. On the "Log On" tab, set "Log on as:" to an account with administrative priviledges on your computer. (screenshot)
  7. Back on the "General" tab, Click on "Start" and then click on "O.K." Once the service has started, you can close the "Services" window.
  8. If you are behind a firewall, ensure that TCP Port 1579 is open. If you are using the Windows firewall, click here for instructions for XP, and here for instructions for Vista. If you are using a third-party firewall, consult the firewall's documentation for instructions on how to open a port.
  9. If hosting internet play and you are behind a router, ensure that TCP port 1579 is properly forwarding. Consult your router's documentation for instructions on port forwarding.


2) Determine your IP Address for LAN Play
  1. Click on Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections
  2. Right-click on your Local Area Connection and choose "Status."
  3. Click on the "Support" tab. You will find your IP Address in the "Connection Status" box.

Note that you may need to check your IP Address periodically, as it can change unless you have specifically configured your computer to have a Static IP Address - consult your router documentation.



3) Determine your IP Address for Internet Play
  1. Visit www.whatsmyip.org.
  2. Your IP Address will be shown at the top of the page.

Congratulations! You are now running a Golden Tee PC Golf Server!



For Clients - Connecting to a Golden Tee PC Server

You will need to obtain a valid IP Address of a Golf Server in order to complete this process.


  1. Download and install the latest GoldenTeePC Patch from here (.zip).
  2. Open "c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" using Notepad.
  3. Add a line similar to this:

    192.168.0.1     goldenteenet.itsgames.com

    Be sure to replace "192.168.0.1" with the actual IP Address of the Golf Server.

    Note that you will need to edit this file again if the IP address of the Golf Server changes.
  4. If you are hosting a game and are behind a firewall, make sure that Golden Tee Golf is not being blocked. If you are using the Windows firewall, click here for instructions for XP, and here for instructions for Vista. If you are using a third-party firewall, consult the firewall's documentation for instructions on how to open a port.
  5. If you are hosting a game and are behind a router, ensure that TCP port 1515 is properly forwarding. Consult your router's documentation for instructions on port forwarding.
